Restoring Teeth – sometimes teeth need fixing – this is most commonly from cavities or holes caused by decay – this forms as a result of bacteria that feed off the sugar we consume in our diets. Other causes involve tooth wear, trauma or genetic conditions. Often smaller cavities cannot be felt and do not initially cause pain. Only when more of the tooth and nerve is affected do we become aware of decay, and this is felt as toothache.

Modern dentistry gives us access to a range of materials which look similar in colour and texture to natural teeth. The role of a dentist is to act as an engineer, builder and artist to help return broken teeth back to their original form and function. Common materials used to restore teeth include: composite resin (white fillings), Emax porcelain, Zirconia (a white metal), gold or other precious metals. Deciding which material and design will offer the most predictable outcome will be discussed with your dentist during a clinical assessment.

Maintaining Gum Health falls hand in hand with keeping the bone healthy between and around teeth. It is essential in keeping your teeth throughout life. The bone acts as the strong foundations by holding your teeth in place. Gum disease will affect the bone surrounding your teeth, as bone is lost over time, the teeth can be affected in the following ways: sensitivity, loose, move or drift, and be lost. Gum disease is not typically something which causes pain, so it can go on undetected and become advanced without being aware of the damage occurring around our teeth. Having a regular thorough check up and gum screening, will ensure steps can be taken before things progress. Gum treatment and maintenance is best carried out by a dental therapist or hygienist. If gum problems persist or there are predisposing risk factors, then it may be beneficial to see a periodontal (gum) specialist. 

Treatment for gum disease is aimed at removing the harmful bacteria which attacks the bone around the teeth. The best way to do this is to have physical cleaning with specialised instruments only found at the dentist. Gum treatment does not mean the lost bone will grow back, it is a means of preserving the remaining bone. In some cases if recession or bone loss has occurred, we can have surgery to place artificial or natural bone material to help build the bone back up. To bring the gum back into the original position a gum graft or periodontal surgery can be undertaken.

Changing the Appearance of Teeth is something which continues to be very popular with people from all backgrounds and ages. This can range from cleaning to remove staining with the hygienist or therapist, to a complete smile makeover – involving porcelain veneers.

Teeth Straightening, there is no age limit to straightening your teeth. There are 2 main options available when it comes to straightening your teeth – INVISALIGN(trademarked) OR FIXED BRACES.

Invisalign is a series of clear plastic trays, called aligners, used to precisely plan and improve the position of teeth. These must be worn for a minimum of 22 hours per day. Invisalign is the best clear aligner system available. We offer packages which include FREE home whitening and Invisalign’s own retainers, called Vivera retainers.

Fixed braces are a traditional way of straightening teeth – using metal or ceramic (white) brackets attached to the teeth with a wire to help apply pressure to move the teeth to the desired positions. 

However you decide to straighten your teeth we can help you with this journey. Remember, in order to maintain the new tooth positions wearing a retainer regularly is always recommended. We also offer a fixed wire retainer to help ensure your teeth stay looking straight.

Replacing Teeth is something no one wants to have to consider. Today we have a range of options and designs which can provide a long term replacement tooth similar to any that have been lost. The main reasons for loosing a tooth are: trauma, gum disease, decay/infection. At times teeth fail to develop or grow through, leaving spaces or baby teeth instead. 

When it comes to replacing teeth, there are 3 main options:

• Removable Denture 
• Fixed Dental Bridge 
• Fixed Dental Implant

Each of these options may not always be available for every situation. Careful planning and design is considered for each case; as no 2 replacement teeth are the same. Although all of these options can give almost life like function, form and aesthetics – none of them are as good as our natural teeth. The design features, and predictability will be discussed in detail with you during a clinical assessment with your dentist.

Dental Anxiety or Phobia. This is real. Often we think we are the only one that feels scared at the dentist or anxious about treatment. Feeling like this is extremely common, and is never something you should feel embarrassed about or ashamed of.

We offer intravenous sedation – this is a fantastic way of building your confidence and changing the way you view and prepare for dental treatment. Intravenous sedation involves giving you a sedative drug which calms and relaxes the anxieties or phobias you may experience. It will help you to have the dental treatment you never thought you’d be able to previously. We ensure this is done safely and under the supervision of highly trained staff.

Root Canal Treatment is an amazing treatment helping to maintain the natural teeth. The treatment involves cleaning the damaged nerve tissue from inside a tooth, and filling this area with material which helps prevent bacteria regrowing. The treatment should not generally be painful. Teeth may require root canal following trauma, decay, large fillings or crowns being placed, and abscess. Root canal treatment needs to be done safety and in a way that does not introduce more bacteria into the infected tooth – to ensure this, a rubber dam is placed around the tooth, which securely isolates the tooth being worked on.

Lip Filler

Injectable lip enhancements involve the precise placement of dermal filler into parts of the lip to enhance, shape, add volume and hydration to the lips. Lip fillers enhance the natural beauty of younger lips as well as restore the plump. Lip fillers also add balance and symmetry to uneven lips. This can be done with cannula or needle. Your treatment plan will be personalised for you to ensure you get the lips that you desire to achieve.

Most patients will resume their normal daily activities straight away but its recommended that the treatment is scheduled at the end of your day.

Dermal fillers can reliably be used in: Chin, Cheeks, Jawline, Marionette lines, Nasolabial folds

By adding volume to the cheeks, chin, marionette lines or nasolabial folds the former youthful facial fullness can be restored and enhanced. Dermal fillers have been developed and used over a number of years for injection into the skin.

Cheeks, Marionette lines & Nasolabial folds:

As we age, not only does our facial skin progressively lose its elasticity and start to sag but changes in the deeper layers of the skin also contribute to the signs of ageing. The bone and soft tissues degenerate, especially in the mid-face and this leads to flattening of the facial features.

Chin & Jawline:

By enhancing the chin and jawline this can help to balance the profile of the face. Dermal filler can be injected into the areas of the chin and jawline to improve the shape and protrusion of the chin.

Tear trough filler

Description:

The tear trough is the groove that runs under the eye between the lower eyelid and the cheeks which is commonly perceived as skin discolouration and dark circles. During treatment, small droplets of hyaluronic dermal filler are places deep along the tear trough and around the eye rim and massaged and sculpted into place.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty

Description:

Nose reshaping, also known as non-surgical rhinoplasty or non-surgical nose job, is an affordable procedure that uses dermal fillers to achieve a more attractive nose without having to go through the possible complications and downtime of a surgical procedure.

Profhilo

Description:

Profhilo has one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available. It not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging skin. Profhilo lasts in the skin around 28 days. During this time the stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of hyaluronic acid. The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement.

Nucleofill

Description:

This is a new line of polynucleotide-based bio stimulating gels, with a high viscosity, for protecting and rejuvenating the skin. Indications for this treatment include:

-Loose skin with poor circulation

-Dehydrated skin

-Skin submitted to oxidative stress

-Stretch marks

-Scars

-For those wanting firming and contouring, more definition

Nucleofill can be used under eyes for people that may not be suitable for tear tough treatments. Nucleofill eyes is specifically designed to improve puffiness, bags under eyes, periocular wrinkles, regenerate the skin in the periocular area, improve superficial wrinkles and bio-restructuration of deep tissues.

Other areas that can be injected are: face, hands, décolletage and hair.

Nucleofill hair is designed to increase hair growth and prevent hair loss. The bio restructuring gel is specific to improve trophism of the hair follicle.

It is recommended to have 2 treatments 2-4 weeks in between. You can have up to 4 treatments with 2-4 week intervals.

Light eyes

Description:

Light eyes in an innovative mesotherapy cocktail. It contains a unique blend of hyaluronic acid, ruscosides, vitamin C and antioxidants, to rejuvenate and refresh sagging eye bags, superficial lines and dark circles around the eyes.

It is recommended to have 2-4 treatments with a 2 week gap between to get best results.

Double chin (Celluform +)

Description:

Celluform plus is a precious solution composed of deoxycholic acid and specific active ingredients to reshape the submental area. It breaks down the fat cells found in the area. Celluform plus not only causes loss of fatty tissue, but also stimulates a greater production of collagen resulting in firmer skin in the submental and mandibular region. With Celluform plus you need less repeated treatments with better overall results in comparison to other fat dissolvers for the double chin. Please be mindful that its important to maintain a healthy balanced lifestyle along with this treatment. It does completely destroy fat cells but if you weren’t to continue eating healthy and having a healthy lifestyle these fat cells may re grow. In this case you would need to repeat the treatment.

2 treatments are recommended for optimum results, you can add a further treatment if needed.

Body areas (DesoBody)

Description:

DesoBody contains an active ingredient called Sodium Deoxycholate. The product is injected using a technique called intralipotherapy (this is the only technique that should be used). It then breaks down the fat cells and is then removed naturally by the body’s lymphatic system.

Please speak to our nurse for recommendations of how much you will need depending on which area you want to treat. Small areas eg: arm – typically needs 2-4 treatments 4-6 weeks apart. Large areas eg: stomach – typically needs 4-6 treatments 4-6 weeks apart.
